Important disclosures

Last updated October 3, 2026. Read these notices before depositing a check or relying on any payout estimate.

1. Platform role

Paycheck is a technology platform that coordinates remote deposit capture, fraud screening, fee quoting, and crypto payout workflows. Check collection and fiat settlement are performed through partner banks and processors. Crypto conversion and on-chain settlement use partner infrastructure and self-custody wallets.

2. OCR is not money

Scanning a check and extracting fields with OCR creates data, not a settled balance. Value exists only after the item clears through banking partners and settlement conditions are met. Example ledger entries shown when a wallet is disconnected are samples for product education only.

3. Holds and funds availability

Mobile deposit availability and hold periods can differ from in-branch deposits. Partners may place extended holds for new accounts, large amounts, elevated risk scores, or collectability concerns. Regulation CC and partner policies may apply. Estimated timelines in the product are not guarantees.

4. Returns and chargebacks

Checks can be returned after presentment for reasons including NSF, stop payment, altered item, forged endorsement, or unauthorized item. Paycheck is designed so crypto is not released before clearance confidence is earned. If a return occurs before payout, no crypto is sent for that item.

5. Fees

  • Automatic path fees follow published Pricing: processing, conversion, and typical network costs.
  • The processing fee has a dollar minimum that can make small checks more expensive in percentage terms.
  • Manual review uses a flat USD fee paid in SOL at a live spot quote.
  • Network fees can move with Solana congestion.
  • Fee wallet configuration and verified payment are required before a manual review is queued.

6. Crypto market risk

Crypto assets are volatile. SOL prices can change between quote and confirmation. Slippage, routing, and network fees can affect the final amount received. USDC is designed to track the U.S. dollar but is not a government-insured bank deposit and can carry issuer and market risks.

7. Self-custody wallet risk

You control your Solana wallet. Lost keys, phishing, malware, and wrong addresses can cause permanent loss. Paycheck cannot reverse confirmed blockchain transfers. Keep backups of recovery phrases offline and verify addresses carefully before approving transactions.

8. Licensing and jurisdiction

Money transmission, money services business, and banking partner requirements vary by jurisdiction. Production launches require appropriate licensing or partner coverage. Some features may be unavailable where we cannot lawfully operate.

9. Demonstration mode

This deployment may include demonstration modes that simulate partner responses, risk scores, or clearance states. Demo deposits are labeled as examples. Do not treat demo balances, simulated signatures, or sample MICR data as real funds or real bank settlement.

10. Roadmap features

Features described under Roadmap, including possible Zcash payout support, are forward-looking. They may change, delay, or never ship. Clearance-first settlement rules will still apply if those options launch.
