Roadmap

Zcash

We are in the works to add optional Zcash settlement after check clearance, so users who want stronger privacy can leave the Solana rail without changing the clearance first rule.

Why Zcash is on the roadmap

Today Paycheck pays out USDC or SOL after banking clearance. Zcash brings shielded pools that hide sender, receiver, and amount from public observers while still allowing selective disclosure when compliance requires it. We want that option for users who treat paycheck privacy as a feature, not a bug. Shipping it means bridging research, partner review, and legal copy, not just a ticker toggle.

01

Research and partner map

We are evaluating how Zcash shielded pools, viewing keys, and Solana bridge designs fit a check deposit product that still needs bank clearance and return handling first.

02

Compliance and disclosure design

Privacy payouts cannot skip BSA expectations. Selective disclosure, travel rule tooling, and clear user notices have to land before any ZEC option ships.

03

Pilot after USDC or SOL clearance

The intended order stays the same. Paper check clears, fees apply, then users may choose USDC, SOL, or a future Zcash path. Instant ZEC against uncleared funds is not on the table.

What will stay true

  • OCR still does not create money.
  • Checks still clear on banking rails before crypto moves.
  • Returns before payout still mean no crypto was sent.
  • USDC and SOL remain first class destinations while Zcash is built.

What we are evaluating

  • Shielded ZEC payout after USDC conversion.
  • Bridge and custody models that do not weaken return safety.
  • Viewing key workflows for audits without public mempools.
  • Fee quotes in SOL or ZEC that stay transparent on Pricing.
